Relationship Counselling or Relationship Therapy which one is right for you?
If you consider yourself to have a mutually respectful relationship where you both typically feel understood by one another and you have a singular topic or issue to talk about then counselling will be sufficient.
If you believe your relationship needs work on conflict or communication in general then relationship therapy is recommend.
These options can be explored in your first session.
Relationship Counselling
Relationship counselling can be used for a specific topic of difficulty. Counselling can facilitate a conversation that accommodates both perspectives at a deeper logical and emotional level.
Relationship Therapy
Relationship therapy is more intense and starts with a thorough personal history and relationship assessment. A thorough relationship assessment will be conducted over 3 sessions, and will be followed up by a feedback session using the following format;
- 1 x couple session
- 1 x individual session each
- 1 x assessment feedback session which will include a very through pathway.
This process is designed to map out your relationship strengths and challenges so we can focus on helping you and your partner make the changes that will truly improve your communication, work through conflicts, and strengthen your overall relationship.
Pre-marriage counselling is designed to increase individual and relationship awareness. It starts with an assessment that will highlight your relationship's areas of strength and growth. If you are a couple embarking on a life together you can gain relationship tools and skills that will help you navigate life together.
